Dealer Profile #6 PSO – Norway

Welcome to the latest in our series of articles in which we profile members of our growing global dealer network. This month it is the turn of PSO, which is based in Norway.

 

PSO, which is led by Bård Arve Valstad, Thomas Engen and Jan Tore Fjelland, has made great strides since becoming a business partner of Mini-Cam in 2016. It has become one of the fastest-growing dealers in Mini-Cam’s expanding global network, with sales being boosted by a series of road trips to see customers and demonstrate our market-leading equipment to potential clients.

Recently the PSO team and Mini-Cam’s international sales manager Sven Breitenfeld delivered 17 customer visits and live demonstrations during a six-day trip which saw them cover 1,000km while taking in destinations such as Oslo and Bergen. Sixty per cent of those demonstrations converted into sales within three weeks. Sven says: “We are very proud to have PSO on board in Norway. The team’s passion, commitment and knowledge of its markets and customers, combined with providing an excellent service, have given us a really strong presence in the country.”

PSO was founded by Bård and Thomas in 2008. Based in Stavanger, it sells Mini-Cam’s push camera and crawler systems and accessories. PSO is mainly focused on the oil and gas industries, the public sector and contractors. The partnership with Mini-Cam began after PSO emailed managing director Nigel Wilson. That led to discussions between Bård and Sven, who recalls: “Our first conversation lasted almost two hours. It was very interesting, and immediately we were very enthusiastic about a potential co-operation.

Bård visited Mini-Cam in England to gain a better understanding of the product range and our management team’s vision for the business, and the partnership officially began in April 2016.”

 

The PSO team has driven sales by exhibiting at trade shows, sending mail shots and social media activity, in addition to the road trips. Sven says “Sales have grown massively and an added benefit to customers has come from PSO feeding back to us about how we could implement product improvements for the Norwegian market and introduce new software into our systems. The result has been a fantastic uplift in sales and amazing recognition for our brand in Norway.”
