ATEX Crawler Systems

Uncompromising performance and safety.

ATEX Crawler Systems

Proteus ATEX crawlers have been engineered, built and tested for safe use in some of the most dangerous situations, without compromising on any of the features and benefits of our other Proteus crawlers.

With ATEX approval these crawlers make working in Zone 1 and other explosion-risk environments much easier and safer than alternative methods, giving you a clear, sharp eye into the unknown, without introducing risk through use of electronic devices.

The ATEX crawler system has all the features, functionality and agility of the regular Proteus CRP140 crawler, with the same professional-grade quality, reliability and accuracy our customers expect from the Proteus label.

Features as standard include built-in height adjustment, multi-frequency Sonde**, lowering device and variable wheel size options using our unique patent pending quick release locking system. There’s also a range of ATEX approved cameras and an auxiliary light and pod both with backeye camera.

Override Lock

The Proteus CCU208-ExZ1 and VCU500-ExZ1 both feature an Override Lock. With the key set to ATEX Mode the ATEX-1 uncompliant power cut-off is enabled. If the system detects ATEX uncompliant, the power supply to the inspection equipment will be cut off.

Crawler Connector Lock

For ATEX compliance it is compulsory that the specially designed lock screw is used. The lock screw prevents the cable connector from becoming loose.
