INPIPE VISIT MINI-CAM
Colleagues from InPipe production facility recently enjoyed a 2 day visit to the company’s UK headquarters in Golborne. Headed up by InPipe’s MD Dietmar Jochum and wife Claudia, the twelve strong group arrived on Friday 22nd November to be greeted by their UK colleagues, a tour of the factory and Van-fit workshop. InPipe colleagues spent over two hours gaining an insight into how the factory operates and a better understanding of how components made in Austria are integrated into the production processes employed in the manufacture of Proteus and SOLOPro+ systems.
After returning to their hotel for a short break, the party were entertained in the evening by Mini-Cam management at the Bem Brasil restaurant in Manchester. On Saturday morning there was just time for a spot of Christmas shopping in Manchester city centre before returning home to Austria.
MD DIETMAR JOCHUM
Having known Mini-cam founder Nigel Wilson for some 16 years , the pair established their business relationship in 2015, realising that Nigel’s product concepts and Dietmars engineering and digital drawing skills provided the perfect partnership to design and manufacturer innovative products for the pipeline inspection industry. As Geschäftsführer (Managing Director) of InPIPE, Dietmar and his wife Claudia, manage a team of ten colleagues at the facility. The day-to-day production involves the tooling of parts and the assembly of pre-built equipment.
Dietmar’s key role is the development of Nigel’s concepts, which he takes to prototype stage for testing and field trials. His vast knowledge of product design, tool making and cost effective manufacturing processes, is then used to integrate new items of equipment into InPIPE’s pre-build workflow, ultimately being shipped to Mini-cam’s UK factory for full assembly.
